James Gunn‘s Superman new test screening reports confirm that a 2025 summer blockbuster is coming to theaters.
According to test screening reports shared by X user DC da Depressão, those who complained about the CGI in Gunn’s Superman trailer will be pleased to know that it has been improved with superior CGI compared to what was shown in the trailers.

Nicholas Hoult is great as Lex Luthor. There are some surprise villains. Rachel Brosnahan is both funny and adorable as Lois Lane. The film’s comedy is well-timed and effective, while also delivering emotional moments. The tone is closer to the first Wonder Woman film and the original Guardians of the Galaxy.
A new spoiler has been confirmed by a toy listing leak. Superman characters include:
- Lex Luthor with a Baby Kaiju (likely a younger version of the Kaiju from the teaser).
- Ultraman.
- A character/toy called “Baby Joe.” It’s unclear who this is, but it could be Kal-El as a baby, since Superman’s full name is Clark Joseph Kent—hence, “Baby Joe.

The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
The film is written and directed by Gunn and is the first film of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Gunn also produced the film with Peter Safran under DC Studios.
