James Gunn‘s Superman, the first film in the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, has a super-sized runtime.
According to The InSneider reports, following the latest test screening, Gunn’s Superman currently has a runtime of roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes without post-credits. I heard that the post-credits scenes have not been finalized yet.

Recently, Jeff Sneider hinted that an A-list actor—specifically mentioning Tom Cruise—will be playing the role of Kal-El’s Kryptonian father, Jor-El, in Gunn’s Superman movie.
There is a possibility that Cruise may appear in the film, as he signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery last year to develop original and franchise movies.
From the latest test screening report, Superman‘s CGI has improved, with superior visuals compared to what was shown in the trailers. Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, is ‘incredibly great.’ There are some surprise villains. Rachel Brosnahan is both funny and adorable as Lois Lane.
The film’s comedy is well-timed and effective while also delivering emotional moments. The tone is closer to the first Wonder Woman film and the original Guardians of the Galaxy.
The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
The film is written and directed by Gunn and is the first film of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Gunn also produced the film with Peter Safran under DC Studios.
