James Mangold’s Bob Dylan Biopic Starring Timothée Chalamet Is Retitled To “Going Electric”

Timothée Chalamet Confirmed His Bob Dylan Biopic 'Going Electric' Is “Coming Soon”

The title of James Mangold‘s Bob Dylan biopic, starring Timothée Chalamet, has been changed to “A Complete Unknown.” The previous title was “Going Electric,” and the new title is inspired by a line from Dylan’s most famous song, “Like A Rolling Stone.”

Mangold revealed the new title on Twitter. During the red carpet premiere of “Bones & All” at the London Film Festival in October 2022, Chalamet confirms that his Bob Dylan biopic is “coming soon.”

The film follows Dylan’s musical transition from folk to rock. When Dylan instead embraced rock ‘n’ roll and traded his acoustic guitar for an amp and an electric guitar, it created a huge outcry. And it cemented the status of rock music. Jeff Rosen, his longtime manager, is working on Dylan’s behalf actively with Searchlight and Mangold on the film.

“Going Electric” is produced by Dylan’s longtime manager Rosen, Veritas Entertainment Group’s Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen, Automatik’s Fred Berger.
