‘Wednesday‘ Season 2 is now in production in Ireland. The show’s star, Jenna Ortega, has revealed that Season 2 will be a “little bit more horror-inspired.” It will also boast new villains, new supernatural abilities, and an even darker tone.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Ortega said, “I think the feel that we’re going for is a little bit more horror-inspired.”
Ortega cited The Masque of the Red Death—the 1964 film based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story—as an inspiration. “Not to say that suddenly we’re the goriest show of all time,” Ortega qualifies. “I mean, there’s six-year-olds watching.” She teases an example: “We’re doing this thing now where Wednesday just kind of appears. She is a little bit of a jump scare herself.”
According to Netflix Tudum, Season 2’s premiere is titled “Here We Woe Again.” It is written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Tim Burton.
Season 2 stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene Ottinger, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie Santiago, Billie Piper as Capri, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Evie Templeton (role to be added), Owen Painter (role to be added), Noah Taylor (role to be added), Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams.

Millar and Gough said, “It’s been incredible to create a show that’s connected with people across the world. We’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2.”
Burton will continue his role as director and executive producer in Season 2, with Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson also directing. Creators and showrunners Gough and Millar executive produce Wednesday alongside fellow EPs Ortega, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Tommy Harper, Karen Richards, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman, Gail Berman, and Meredith Averill.
