Speaking to Deadline, Joey King describes working on ‘Uglies,’ YA bestseller adaption for Netflix, as a “dream realized” because she’s been a fan of the books since 11.

Bullet Train is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle (published in English as Bullet Train) by Kōtarō Isaka. The film is directed by David Leitch, from a screenplay by Zak Olkewicz. According to the film’s plot synopsis, “Trained killer Ladybug wants to give up the life but is pulled back in by his handler Maria Beetle in order to collect a briefcase on a bullet train heading from Tokyo to Kyoto. Onboard the train, he and other competing assassins discover their objectives are all connected.”
