John Cena’s Peacemaker is returning for Season 2. We’ve got the release date along with a new teaser, shows Cena’s Peacemaker with a cooler look and even more action. Oh, and I forgot to mention—he’s a superhero now, a major shift from his anti-hero days.
On YouTube, Max has shared its upcoming release slate for this year, which includes the teaser for Peacemaker Season 2, scheduled for August 21. You can watch it below.
Following the clip’s release, DC boss James Gunn also shared the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser and wrote: “Counting the days until Peace on Earth. I just finished the DI & mix on the season premiere yesterday, and wow—it’s one of my favorite things ever. DC Studios’ Peacemaker Season 2 is coming soon, only on Max, on August 21, 2025.”
The show is set in the DC Universe (DCU) and serves as a “soft reboot” of the series, which originated as a spin-off from the 2021 DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film—The Suicide Squad. It is produced by DC Studios with Gunn as the showrunner.


Returning for Peacemaker Season 2 are Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase / Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as August “Auggie” Smith / White Dragon, Nhut Le as Judomaster, and Eagly as Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle. New cast members include Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, along with David Denman, Anissa Matlock, Taylor St. Clair, Dorian Kingi, and Brandon Stanley in undisclosed roles. Also, Peacemaker’s pet bald eagle, Eagly, also returns for Season 2.
When Will Peacemaker Season 2 Premiere?
Peacemaker Season 2 will consist of eight episodes and is set to premiere on Max on August 21, 2025.
