John Krasinski, known for ‘A Quiet Place‘ and ‘Jack Ryan,’ is rumored to star as Batman in DCU’s ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold,’ a part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in the DC Universe.
‘The Flash’ director Andy Muschietti was initially set to helm the project. However, given the absence of any news regarding ‘The Flash’ turning into a major flop, the possibility of his replacement remains uncertain. During the premiere of ‘The Flash‘, Josh K. Elliott, the senior global editor at Narcity Canada, asked Andy Muschietti about the direction he would take if allowed to direct his own Batman movie. Andy Muschietti replied, “I don’t think I can talk to that… yet.” Rumors are circulating about replacing Muschietti, with Sam Raimi or Ben Affleck being mentioned as potential directors for ‘The Brave and the Bold.’
Krasinski debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” He also voiced Superman in the animated film “DC League of Super-Pets.”
The plot of ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold,’ is about Batman and his actual son, Damian Wayne. This is based on Grant Morrison’s great comic book run. Damian Wayne is my favorite Robin; he’s a little assassin who Batman tries to get in line with, and so this is the story of the two of them and the beginning of sort of the Bat Family in the DCU.
On Twitter, James Gunn said that Batman: The Brave and the Bold will feature his favorite iteration of Robin, Damian Wayne. In the announcement (Via: Digital Spy), he said the character is “a little son of a bitch.” The film will also serve as the “introduction of the DCU Batman”, which we presume means a very different Batman from the one Pattinson has played. The film is also reported to be inspired by Grant Morrison’s run on Batman comics, in which Batman discovers a son he never knew he had.
The film is produced by Barbara Muschietti, James Gunn, and Peter Safran.
‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ release date is TBA. Do you think John Krasinski should be the next DCU Batman? share your thoughts on comments.
