Jon Bernthal Reportedly Filmed a Punisher Scene for Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel Studios could be setting up a major farewell for Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

Following his recent appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher is confirmed to appear in the upcoming Avengers movie. Not a particularly big role like the one he had in Brand New Day, but a minor role.

According to scooper James Mack, a scene was recently filmed for Avengers: Doomsday involving the Punisher entering a bar while the world is ending. This scene leads into the final battle, where the POVs of several characters are shown as the final Incursion takes place.

“I heard that several characters will have cameos in the final act of Doomsday. When Sentry stops an Incursion with his bare hands to buy the heroes more time, the film will reportedly show the status of several heroes. One of them is Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, who will appear in a bar scene.”

Even if Bernthal’s Punisher survives the events of Doomsday, he will reportedly have a “significant role” in Avengers: Secret Wars, according to James Mack.

These characters will keep their memories when Battleworld is created and will become part of the Resistance in Avengers: Secret Wars: Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Reed Richards, Black Panther, Captain America (Sam Wilson), the Young Avengers/Champions, Jean Grey, Vision, and Thor.

There will be only five members of the Young Avengers/Champions, along with three surprise fan-service characters whose involvement could surprise fans when their actors are announced.

Avengers: Doomsday recently completed its reshoots, with additional cameos added. Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk were reportedly part of the additional photography.
