Jonathan Majors was fired from Marvel Studios after being found guilty of assault and harassment.
According to Variety, on December 18, 2023, a Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment after a two-week trial related to a March incident with his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari. Majors is scheduled for sentencing on February 6, 2023, and could face up to a year in jail.
On March 25, Majors was arrested in New York, facing charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. His representative maintains his innocence, stating, “he’s done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Marvel Studios originally planned for Majors to play all versions of Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. However, a decision on the character’s future is pending. Filming for ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ was set to start in early 2024. Majors first appeared as Kang in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ and later reprised the role in ‘Loki‘ Season 2.
‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ Renamed as Avengers 5
According to THR, ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘ is now being called Avengers 5. Marvel is revamping the entire script, shifting the focus to a new villain-centric film.
