Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple Joined Venom 3
Juno Temple (The Handmaid’s Tale, Ted Lasso) has joined the cast of Sony and Marvel’s ‘Venom 3‘. As per Deadline, Temple will play the main female lead alongside Tom Hardy’s Venom. The filming will begin between June and September 2023.
Kelly Marcel is set to direct the film from a screenplay she co-wrote with Tom Hardy. The film is a sequel to Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. According to the plot, in Venom 3, Eddie Brock/Venom and Toxin are hunted by the government and have to join forces to fight the Xenophage, a genetically engineered symbiote killer that goes rogue. Patrick Mulligan will become Toxin, but he will be a rival vigilante rather than the main villain.
Venom, which was released in 2018, grossed $850 million worldwide, while its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was released in 2021, grossed $470 million worldwide. Both films have grossed a total of $1.32 billion worldwide. Both films have been commercially successful at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.
Juno Temple is best known for her roles in Atonement, The Dark Knight Rises, Maleficent, Black Mass, Horns, and Wonder Wheel. She has also appeared in acclaimed television series such as Vinyl, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Ted Lasso.
Produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Kelly Marcel, and Tom Hardy. The film is part of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man cinematic universe, as well which is separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which focuses on characters such as Spider-Man.
Venom 3 will hit theaters in 2024.
