Kevin Feige and Tom Holland reportedly want ‘Spider-Man 4‘ to be more grounded. Sony Pictures reportedly wants the film to be huge, and they are considering bringing back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield following their successful reunion in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
According to insider Daniel Richtman on Patreon, Feige wants the movie to be more grounded, while Sony aims for it to be huge with a substantial budget. The last film, ‘No Way Home,’ a collaboration with Marvel, earned Sony a profit of over $610 million, grossing $1.9 billion worldwide at the box office.
Kingpin Negotiations and Kraven Confirmed for ‘Spider-Man 4’
Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin is currently in negotiations to join ‘Spider-Man 4’. Additionally, Kraven the Hunter is confirmed to be part of the cast.
‘Spider-Man 4’ stars Holland, Zendaya, and director Jon Watts set to return, while Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds won’t be back.
The script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, known for their work on previous MCU Spider-Man films, and was completed before the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. We recently confirmed that Michael Keaton‘s Vulture, last seen in the mid-credits scenes of Sony’s ‘Morbius,’ will return in ‘Spider-Man 4’.
According to reports, ‘Spider-Man 4’ is being characterized as a “street-level civil war,” and there are hints that Kate Bishop, Echo, and Jessica Jones may make appearances in the film. Also, ‘Spider-Man 4’ may feature appearances by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. Also, it has been confirmed that Ant-Man will have a “sizeable role” in the movie. The release date for ‘Spider-Man 4’ has not been announced yet.
Recently, Holland confirmed that the ‘Spider-Man 4’ script is looking good so far, but further details will soon be revealed. Will Miles Morales join Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4’? There is a possibility of Miles Morales joining Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4,’ as the film may explore the idea of a multiverse. Holland said, It’s hard to say, but Holland teased “some stuff going on” in the untitled Spider-Man 4 that he’s “excited about.” “Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows?” Holland added, “But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see.”
In a recent press conference with the Critics Choice Association, Holland told Collider’s interviewer that he would only return as Spider-Man if it’s ‘worth the while of the character.
Holland said, “All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing.”
It has been reported that Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SPUMC) and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are merging in Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4.’
Currently, SPUMC members include Venom (Tom Hardy), Morbius (Jared Leto), Madame Web (Dakota Johnson), and Kraven the Hunter (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Additionally, Sony is currently developing a ‘Sinister Six‘ movie, featuring characters from their Spider-Man spin-offs.
