Marvel President Kevin Feige said Avengers: Secret Wars will introduce mutants—and the X-Men—to the MCU. The movie will start a new era for mutants in Marvel stories.
Feige called it ‘a dream come true’ to have the X-Men back with Marvel Studios—marking the first big step to include the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During the Disney APAC Content Showcase, held in Singapore (via Deadline), Feige appeared virtually to discuss the future of the X-Men, calling their return to Marvel Studios ‘a dream come true.’
Feige said, “I think you will see that continue in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize.” He added, “Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.”
