Kristen Stewart attended the 74th Berlinale International Film Festival for the ‘Love Lies Bleeding‘ press and photocall on February 18, 2024.
Stewart and director Rose Glass spoke at the ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ press conference.
Stewart said about the Berlin Film Festival that “there’s an inherent, radical leaning here… There’s something irreverent and cool about it. It’s so cool here!”
Stewart said on her Rolling Stone cover, “It’s crazy that there aren’t more pictures like that. It wasn’t that big of a deal. So I loved the opportunity.”
“I definitely did this movie for Rose. Saint Maud is one of my favorite movies. (…) I just thought that Rose is somebody who should be making movies and should be telling people what to do, and I wanted to be one of them,” says Stewart.
During the press conference (Via Variety), Stewart also provided an update on her upcoming Susan Sontag biopic, which was announced at last year’s Berlinale, where she served as jury president.
Stewart said, “The Sontag thing will be made over such a long span of time,” she said. “The format is unique. It’s a hybrid documentary, research project, experiment, film within a film type thing. We started last year here at the festival. I don’t know when we’re going to finish it. It’s an open-ended process.”
‘Love Lies Bleeding’ is set to be released theatrically in the United States by A24 on March 8, 2024, and in the United Kingdom by Lionsgate on April 19, 2024.
