Marvel Studios has delayed Avengers: Doomsday from its original release date of May 5, 2026, to December 18, 2026. The delay will give the Marvel team more time to execute the “gargantuan vision” they have for the film. Production is currently underway in the United Kingdom.

According to Alex Perez’s May Q&A report (via The Cosmic Circus) — Joaquin Torres, Captain Marvel, Bruce Banner, Wong, and Shang-Chi are part of Sam Wilson’s team in Avengers: Doomsday. They may also recruit She-Hulk.
At one point, Earth-616’s Stephen Strange, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Miguel O’Hara, Charles Xavier, and Beast were considered for the Multiversal Illuminati. This was intended for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars — but it now seems unlikely they will be included.
Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed at CinemaCon 2025 that Avengers: Doomsday will focus on the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, the New Avengers (Thunderbolts), and the original X-Men all uniting to fight Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).
Directed by Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator, Stephen McFeely. Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) will be the cinematographer.

Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
