HBO Max’s Love and Death series, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons, will take place during the SXSW festival. The premiere will be held at the Paramount Theatre on March 11, 2023 (12:00 p.m.—12:58 p.m.).

Love and Death will have its world premiere at SXSW 2023 on March 11, 2023. The series is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery (Elizabeth Olsen), a Wylie, Texas, housewife accused of the brutal axe murder of her friend Betty Gore in 1980.
Love and Death is directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and written by David E. Kelley. The series stars Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery, Jesse Plemons as Allan Gore, Patrick Fugit as Pat Montgomery, Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, Keir Gilchrist as Ron Adams, Elizabeth Marvel as Jackie Ponder, Tom Pelphrey as Don Crowder, Krysten Ritter as Sherry Cleckler, and Beth Broderick as Bertha Pomeroy.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Olsen says she leapt at the chance to explore Candy’s complicated psychology—and to “figure out how to be on her side and the life that leads up to that moment.”
