The upcoming Blade reboot movie from Marvel has no delays in its currently scheduled release date. There were previous reports that Blade had been removed from the 2025 release calendar, presumably delayed indefinitely; however, this seems to be false.

In the latest episode of Jeff Sneider and John Rocha’s The Hot Mic, it is revealed that Mahershala Ali recently met with Marvel Studios and reportedly said in a phone call that he is very happy and excited about the current direction of Blade. He also has no issues with the delay of the film.

According to reports, Marvel Studios is currently in talks with a director for Blade. Also, we have reported that Blade recently underwent another major rewrite, even after the significant changes made by newly hired writer Michael Green. The studio is now searching for a new writer, but they have found the story they want to tell.

The film’s current release date is planned for November 7, 2025, assuming that the planned filming date will begin this fall in either Mexico or Brazil. Previously, it was slated to start in the UK.

In the film, Ali play the role of Eric Brooks/Blade. The cast also includes Delroy Lindo as Deacon Frost, John West Jr. as DEE, Mia Goth, and Milan Ray. We reported that Mia Goth is rumored to play Dracula’s daughter Lilith Drake.

Blade is a reboot of the franchise and the 36th film in the MCU. It is produced by Kevin Feige, Eric Hauserman Carroll, Louis D’Esposito, and Bassam Tariq.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ali said, he was “sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that.”

Blade will soon arrive in theaters.
