What is Excalibur in Marvel Comics?
In Marvel Comics, Excalibur is associated with the X-Men. Created by Chris Claremont and Alan Davis in 1987, the original lineup included Captain Britain, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Phoenix. The team’s adventures involve a mix of superheroics, magic, and interdimensional travel, with the name “Excalibur” referencing the legendary sword of King Arthur. While not directly connected, individual team members may have ties to espionage or government agencies.
In the final episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion, G’iah acquires the DNA of several formidable Avengers, gaining their powers and becoming the most powerful character in the MCU. In the Secret Invasion finale, Sonya discovers G’iah and offers help to find a new home for the Skrulls. G’iah ultimately chooses to go with Sonya.
Marvel will soon reveal more details about the ‘Excalibur MI6’ series, including information about the showrunner, direction, episodes, and release date.
