New BTS images from Avengers: Doomsday reveal forest and desert sets, hinting at Latveria and The Void. Hannah Jell shares the first real production photos.

Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has already wrapped production, and some BTS filming images have been shared by Camera and Steadicam Operator Hannah Jell.

On Instagram, Jell shared updated images from the production. There are also big spoilers hinted. The photos show a forest and a desert setting, which could represent Latveria, Doctor Doom’s homeland, and the desert may be The Void from Deadpool & Wolverine. See the images below.

During a recent interview, Avengers: Doomsday production designer Gavin Bocquet confirmed that the film used mostly real sets rather than blue screens. Eighty percent of the interior sets used physical backings, allowing scenes to be captured entirely in camera.

Bocquet said, “The default situation before us was, ‘Let’s put a blue screen out there,’ while we had physical backings for 80% of the interior sets, so it was all in-camera. And then it was all in-camera, you know, and in the end, that’s as much a visual choice as a money choice—if they don’t have to change the exterior. So wherever we could, we brought that bit of experience in just to adjust those things, rather than presuming you can always add it in with visual effects.”

Also, director Joe Russo earlier this year said, “We did so many of those movies in a row that you sort of forget about the pressure.” He added, “The job is so all-encompassing and so intense that you can’t really think about, ‘Well, what are people going to feel or think about this?’ All you can think about is, ‘Is this a good story that we want to tell or not? Why are we doing it?'”

Joe continued, “So we’re exclusively focused on the storytelling right now. And that’s the thing that brought us back — an idea for a story where we went, ‘That’s a really, really interesting story to tell.'”
