Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World had an early draft which contained a scene where Ruth/Sabra (Shira Haas) and Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) were present at the cherry blossom field. Sabra was the one who helped defeat Red Hulk (Harrison Ford) by giving Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) the Adamantium.
In the original version of Brave New World, Ruth/Sabra (Haas) and Isaiah Bradley (Lumbly) were there, and Sabra was the one who helped defeat Red Hulk by giving Sam the Adamantium and telling him to use it to absorb the gamma radiation from him, turning him back into his human form.
The scene was entirely changed. In the movie, Sam Wilson uses his Vibranium wings to absorb and release energy against him. He leads Ross to a cherry blossom field—hoping to remind him of his daughter, Betty (Liv Tyler), and calm him down. Sam then knocks Ross down with the stored energy from his wings. Though injured, he speaks to Ross and helps him return to his normal self.
Directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton. The film stars Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Tyler as Betty Ross, Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Rosa Salazar, and Xosha Roquemore.

In Captain America: Brave New World, after executing a successful mission in Mexico, Sam (Mackie) and his partner Joaquin/Falcon (Ramirez) are invited to the White House to meet with President Ross (Ford). He asks Sam, the new Captain America, to reconstitute the Avengers Initiative. However, they almost immediately square off on opposite sides when an assassination attempt occurs.
Captain America: Brave New World is now available on digital platforms, although it has not yet been released on Disney+. The film was released in theaters on February 14, 2024, and has grossed $414.8 million worldwide, making it the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2025.
