Marvel Television‘s Nova will be a key project to kick off the next MCU saga. The upcoming phase will focus on the cosmic side, exploring realms beyond anything we’ve seen.
Sam Alexander’s Nova Set to Play Key Role in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga
According to The Cosmic Circus, as the Multiverse Saga moves forward, Sam Alexander’s version of Nova is expected to play an important role. With young heroes and multiversal time travel being introduced, Nova could become a key character in the MCU. Instead of waiting for Sam to grow and develop on Earth-616, the multiverse lets us explore different timelines where Nova is already an experienced hero, ready to face bigger challenges.
As a powerful cosmic hero, Nova could connect Earth’s Avengers with the wider universe, leading teams in multiversal battles, especially in movies like Kang Dynasty. With the MCU’s cosmic side growing, Nova‘s story is expected to be a big part of the next generation of heroes.
Sabir Pirzada, known for his work on Marvel’s Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, is set to write the series. Glenn Close will return to her MCU role as Nova Prime Irani Rael, while John C. Reilly will reprise his role as Rhomann Dey.
A rumor from Production List hinted that Xolo Maridueña and Tanner Gillman have joined the cast, though this has not yet been confirmed. The show is currently in the development and pre-production stage, with filming set to begin on January 31, 2025.
Here’s the plot synopsis for Nova:
In the wake of Annihilation, Nova, the Human Rocket, stands on the front lines of cosmic adventure as the last of the Nova Corps and our only hope against threats from the furthest reaches of the Marvel Universe!
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed Richard Rider will be the lead in the Nova series. Feige said, “It’s happening, it’s coming together. Richard Rider, yep.” He added, “It’s three or four years out.”
Nova will premiere on Disney+, with the release date yet to be announced.
