Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day production kicks off on August 1 in the city centre of Glasgow.
According to the Glasgow Times, the streets of Glasgow have been transformed into New York City for the filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Nearly 50 roads will be shut down in Glasgow starting tomorrow as production begins. Filming is reportedly set to last around two weeks. See the new set images below.

The source reported that — “Glasgow City Council confirmed that traffic diversions will be in place and warned that bus and taxi lanes will also be impacted. Additionally, delays and congestion are expected — particularly around key commuter routes. For the safety of pedestrians, a prohibition of pedestrian movements will also be enforced during periods of filming action.”

We could potentially get our first look at Tom Holland in the new suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day soon. Recently, Marvel President Kevin Feige said that Peter Parker is dealing with “street-level crime” in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Feige said, “As sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time him being a proper Spider-Man — him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city… as opposed to world-ending events.”
Recently, Destin Daniel Cretton‘s assistant, Ziyi Cao, shared a post on Instagram featuring multiple Spider-Man comic covers. Feige previously mentioned that Destin will be bringing several of these comic covers to life in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Also, during a Disney Consumer Products presentation, Disney revealed that Boomerang, Tarantula, and Tombstone will appear as villains in the movie.

Here’s the plot synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the world has forgotten his name, Peter Parker (Holland) begins a new chapter in his life — balancing college classes, part-time work, and his responsibility as New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But when a mysterious force begins to unravel the city from the inside out, Peter finds himself caught between powerful enemies, old legacies, and unexpected allies. As shadows from the past creep into his present, he must redefine what it truly means to be a hero — on his own.
Directed by Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film will be a “multiversal grounded” story featuring multiple villains, including Tarantula, Scorpion, Boomerang, Tombstone, and more.
In the film, Holland will be returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink is rumored to play Gwen Stacy, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Liza Colón-Zayas has been cast in an undisclosed role. Additionally, Michael Mando is expected to reprise his Spider-Man: Homecoming role as Mac Gargan.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters and IMAX on July 31, 2026.
