Note: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Secret Wars.
There will be two Captain Americas after Avengers: Secret Wars: one will be Sam Wilson as Captain America, and the other will be a recast version of Steve Rogers.
According to insider James Mack, who previously leaked plot details of Avengers: Doomsday, after Avengers: Secret Wars, there will be a new Steve Rogers portrayed by another actor, while Sam Wilson will also continue as Captain America, with both coexisting simultaneously in the MCU, just like in the Marvel comics.

The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez has already hinted that Avengers: Secret Wars will reset the MCU, with the new Earth-616 merging elements from multiple universes (828, 1610, etc.) into a single “prime” timeline. Jonathan Hickman’s Time Runs Out storyline and the 2015 Secret Wars will serve as inspiration.
The classic Avengers (such as Iron Man and Captain America) will likely be recast after Secret Wars. As of now, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) is one character confirmed to remain. Some “dead” heroes and villains may return due to the reset altering past events.
There are confirmed reports that Chris Evans‘ Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell‘s Peggy Carter will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. While production is taking place at Windsor Great Park, leaked set images revealed that Rogers and Carter have children.

Rumored Theory: Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s son, James Rogers, will become the new Captain America in the MCU after the reboot. He will reportedly be aged up later on, and we will be introduced to James Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost.
