Melissa Barrera attended the premiere of ‘Your Monster‘ during the 2024 Sundance Film Festival at the Egyptian Theatre on January 18, 2024.
In an interview with Deadline, Barrera discussed reuniting with Jenna Ortega and the ‘Scream’ “Core 4” at MPTF’s 17th Annual Evening Before Gala, stating, “We’re family for life.”
Barrera said, “We are a family. So when we are around each other, we always find each other. And when we meet, we like to spend the whole night together and that will never change. I am so grateful for everything I infused into the franchise and I will forever be proud of it.”
Speaking to AP Entertainment, Barrera says her exit from the “Scream” franchise over social media posts about Gaza has become a personal “awakening.”
‘Your Monster’ is directed by Caroline Lindy, ‘Your Monster’ follows Laura Franco (Barrera), a young actress dealing with cancer and a tough breakup. Her life takes an unusual twist when she discovers a terrifying yet oddly charming Monster (Tommy Dewey) living in her closet.
Plot: “After her life falls apart, soft-spoken actress Laura Franco finds her voice again when she meets a terrifying, yet weirdly charming, monster living in her closet.”
The film also stars Edmund Donovan and Kayla Foster. Produced by Kayla Foster, Caroline Lindy, Kira Carstensen, Melanie Donkers, and Shannon Reilly, ‘Your Monster’ is a collaboration between Merman and Bombo Sports and Entertainment.
