The ‘Scream‘ cast members, including Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Skeet Ulrich, and Jack Quaid, reunited at MPTF’s 17th Annual Evening Before Gala at Pacific Design Center on January 13, 2024 in West Hollywood, California.

On November 21, 2023, it was reported that Spyglass Media Group had fired actor Barrera from the seventh Scream movie due to social media posts characterized as antisemitic. Also, a day later, it was announced that fellow star Ortega would not be returning to the film. Also, Christopher Landon has announced his resignation from directing ‘Scream VII‘ with a heartbreaking statement.
Barrera was fired in October due to her outspoken stance during the Israel-Hamas war, while Ortega decided to leave before the summer SAG-AFTRA strike, with the news becoming public last month.
The filming for ‘Scream VII’ was supposed to occur in the first quarter of 2024 in Montreal, Canada, with a wrap-up date around April 19th, 2024. The film’s working title is “Blackbird” and will be set in New York. Due to the current situation, the filming may delayed and the studio needs to find a new director.
