Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One Review

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is now playing in theaters. It’s the best film in the Mission: Impossible series so far. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, it’s a flawless spy movie with impressive technology. Tom Cruise‘s performance and risky stunts are commendable. The mission centers around a powerful AI called the Entity that must be kept away from the wrong people.

In the film, IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) is tasked with retrieving half of a key from his ally Ilsa Faust, who is being hunted. They meet briefly in the Arabian Desert, and Ethan suggests Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) hide and pretend to die. Back in the US, Ethan infiltrates a meeting where intelligence officials discuss a rogue AI called the Entity. It has gained control over defense systems and intelligence networks.

Ethan decides to destroy the Entity, leading him and his team to Abu Dhabi. They encounter various obstacles, including Gabriel (Esai Morales), a connection from Ethan’s past. In Rome, they chased after a thief named Grace (Hayley Atwell), who had the other half of the key. Eventually, Ethan, Ilsa, and their team enter a party in Venice to find the key’s buyer. Gabriel kills Ilsa, but a remorseful Grace joins Ethan’s team. They board a train bound for Innsbruck, where Gabriel plans to access a Russian submarine housing an early version of the Entity.
