How Is Moana 2 Going To Be?
In ‘Moana 2,’ Moana and Maui reunite three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. In an interview, Johnson explained why the Maui role was a particularly special one for him. “It’s my culture — you guys can see I wear it on my chest, my body, my tattoo, and also the character of Maui was inspired from my grandfather, the high chief, Peter Maivia.” Johnson added, “It’s so much deeper than a movie to me, and I know it’s deeper for Disney, too.”
During the announcement statement, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger said, “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise, and we can’t wait to give you more of Moana and Maui when Moana 2 comes to theaters this November.”
