Now onto the narrowed-down list of movies you need to watch next!

1. The Help (2011)

This exceptionally well-done movie is about the black maids’ point of view who are working for white families. Life isn’t easy for them as they are tested in every way possible. All this is set in the 1960s, the time before the civil rights movements took the rise.

This movie is a must-watch for all. With the best casting, a great storyline perfection of dialogues, and cinematography. This movie deserves nothing less than a chef’s kiss.

2. Gran Turismo (2023)

When the underdogs come together as a team, surely, they can take over anything in the world. However, Gran Turismo is simply about taking over the most elite sports in the world.

The team of underdogs includes a former race car driver who presumably failed in his career, a middle-class gamer who is struggling in his life, and a marketing exec who risks everything that they have to create something for all.

The movie is so good that it would be no less than a crime if you miss it!

3. Persuasion (2022)

Not everyone gets a second chance at true love. Those who do, are not always able to get the best of it either.

So, when Anne Eliot meets the humble man once again after she once let him go due to consistent persuasion, will she be able to make the mends eight years later?

The movie is a good watch, however, one thing we did miss was the not-so-on-point language used. It felt more with a modern touch and not something from the era that the movie is based in.

4. Austenland (2013)

Imagine being in love with Pride and Prejudice so much that you rush off to visit the Jane Austen theme park with faith in fate that you will find your perfect man.

A light-hearted watch where we did end up enjoying the presence of Jennifer Coolidge on screen.

5. The Pale Blue Eye (2022)

This murder mystery comes in strong with a plot twist that we didn’t see coming, and nor would you. When a West Point cadet is murdered, an investigator is hired to solve the case. However, the cadets have a code silence which isn’t easy to break. So, the investigator might have to resort to some unconventional ways.

A plot that keeps you on your toes and intrigued till the very end with brilliant execution.

6. Chevalier (2022)

Are you in the mood to watch a historical piece? Something that also comes with an opening conversation on existing social issues with a forbidden romance as the cherry on top?

Then Chevalier is something you cannot miss at any cost! A light watch, but makes it more fun as it is based on the true story of Joseph Bologne.

7. Rosaline (2022)

The modern telling of Romeo and Juliet is something we didn’t know we needed, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The element of humor made this remake stand out for sure. For those who love the plot of enemies to lovers, this movie will be the perfect watch.

8. Saltburn (2023)

A summer never to forget is every student’s dream, so when one is invited to a summer away with an eccentric family a story unfolds that will remain with him forever. However, will this be for better or for worse?

With great soundtracks keeping it all the more fun, and a plotline quite intriguing, this one has to be on your watch list!
