Netflix has recently shared the first-look promo for Squid Game Season 3, in which they accidentally revealed the release date.
While closely reviewing the description, it shows that Season 3 will premiere on June 27, 2025, on the platform. You can see the image below.
The show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, initially planned to make Season 2 the final season. However, due to the large number of episodes, he was unable to do so, and Netflix suggested splitting them into Season 3.
As reported, the filming for Season 3 has already been completed. A rumor recently surfaced that Leonardo DiCaprio would appear in the final season. However, Netflix denied it, stating, “We also heard about Leonardo DiCaprio appearing, but it is not true.”
On X, Netflix shared a short teaser for Season 3 with the caption, “Everyone say hi to Chul-su, Squid Game 3 coming 2025.” The teaser shows three new players in their suits, entering an arena where the giant ‘Red Light, Green Light’ doll Young-hee’s back is turned. After showing her face at a railroad crossing, a boy doll is revealed on the other side of the tracks, looking back at her. Check it out below.
Season 2, which premiered on December 26, 2024, has become Netflix’s #1 show in 92 countries. An official announcement revealed, “With 68 million views, Season 2 broke the record for the most views for a show in its premiere week and has already become Netflix’s seventh most popular non-English TV show ever.”
