When their father’s health worsens, three estranged sisters come together to try to plan for the inevitable. The eldest is high-strung Katie (Carrie Coon), who talks a hundred miles a minute and stresses about all the practical details. The middle sister, Rachel (Natasha Lyonne), is ready to check out after spending a year caring for the man. The youngest sibling, Christina (Elizabeth Olsen), seems always on the verge of tears, trying to clumsily keep the peace while they’re all stuck in their father’s small apartment.

The three actors deliver absorbing performances, defining distinct personalities, each with their own perspective on how to deal with the situation. Their father remains hidden from our view, confined to his bed, but as the daughters take turns butting heads, we slowly piece together a portrait through the women he raised.

The film also stars Jovan Adepo, Jay O. Sanders, Rudy Galvan, Jose Febus, Randy Ramos Jr., and Jasmine Bracey.

‘His Three Daughters’ marks Netflix’s fourth major deal at the Toronto Film Festival. They paid around $20 million for ‘Hit Man,’ directed by Richard Linklater, and over $10 million for ‘Woman of the Hour,’ directed by Anna Kendrick. They also acquired ‘Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa,’ a documentary about the first Nepali woman to summit Mount Everest.

Produced by Alex Orlovsky, Duncan Montgomery, Lia Buman, Marc Marrie, Mal Ward, Matt Aselton, Tim Headington, Jack Selby, and Diaz Jacobs, it is a collaboration between High Frequency Entertainment, Arts & Sciences, Tango, Animal Pictures, Talkies Inc., and Case Study Films. Kendall Anderson’s creative touch shines as the production designer, while Gene Park handles sound and Cinetic Media manages publicity. The original score comes from Rodrigo Amarante, and the US Sales Agent is Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

When Will ‘His Three Daughters’ Be Released On Netflix?

The release date for ‘His Three Daughters’ on Netflix has not been announced yet. However, we can expect the film by the end of December 2023.
