The filming for Netflix’s ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,’ the third Knives Out movie has wrapped filming, as confirmed by director Rian Johnson.
Johnson shared an image on X (Twitter) and wrote, “Aaaand that’s a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Went so fast! Best crew, incredible cast, this was a really special shoot, and I cannot wait to put it together.” The image also contains “PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THE GRAVES.”
Filming began on June 10 and wrapped on August 17. The film stars Daniel Craig reprising his role as master detective Benoit Blanc, alongside an ensemble cast including Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin as Father Frank, Mila Kunis as police chief G. Scott, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.
The film is a standalone sequel to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) — and the third installment in the Knives Out film series — directed by Johnson. In the announcement statement, Johnson said, “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.” Johnson added, “We’re about to go into production on the third one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going.”
Produced by Johnson and his partner, Ram Bergman, through T-Street Pictures and will be distributed by Netflix.
‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
