In Generations: The Evolution of Spider-Man on Disney+, Tom Holland revealed that he tried on Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suits while developing his new suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Holland said, “Before we started developing the suit for Brand New Day, I tried on Andrew’s and Tobey’s suits and then tried on my own suit, and we created a kind of Spider-Man suit from those three. Having seen his older brothers wear their suits and look so fantastic, it was really cool for him to be inspired by them and dress like them.”
In a recent interview, Holland said that Sadie Sink “steals the show” in the third act of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Holland said, “She handled the pressure of the character she’s playing with such grace.”
Holland on the five-year gap between Spider-Man: No Way Home and Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
“One of the reasons we took a big break was to allow the characters to grow up off-screen. Audiences who loved the original franchise will see a different version of these characters from the outset.”

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play the role of Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Here are the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
