Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly suited up in costume as Doctor Doom for most of Avengers: Doomsday. Reed Richards and Doctor Doom will also reportedly share a history in Avengers: Doomsday.
Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom face will reportedly not be seen until the third act of Avengers: Doomsday. During Doctor Doom’s backstory, RDJ’s face will reportedly be revealed, including what happened to his wife and family.
According to insider @Cryptic4KQual, Downey Jr. will be suited up in costume as Doctor Doom for 95% of his scenes in Avengers: Doomsday. Doctor Doom is described as the Doom we all know and love: manipulative, calculating, smart, and pragmatic.
How Is Doctor Doom So Powerful in Avengers: Doomsday?
Doctor Doom will reportedly have a large collection of trinkets and artifacts he has gathered throughout his adventures, including the Word of God. That’s reportedly why he is so powerful, even without Loki’s abilities to make him a god. He will have witches and individuals that can perform magic by his side.
Avengers: Doomsday will reportedly feature at least six universes:
- The X-Men universe
- A hidden pocket universe
- Earth-616 (the main universe)
- Earth-828 (the Fantastic Four’s universe)
- Doctor Doom’s original universe
- Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man universe
According to Alex P (via The Cosmic Circus), the opening sequence of Avengers: Doomsday is being teased as “a spectacle on its own.”
“It’s like a kid was given a sandbox, threw his toys in, and just said, ‘Let your imagination run wild.’ And it serves very well to establish the very real threat of Incursions.”
Deadpool’s universe is reportedly one of the first to face an Incursion in Avengers: Doomsday. This could explain why Deadpool and Wolverine are seen doing the X-Men’s dirty work in the film.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
