Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday will be the biggest Multiversal team-up movie, featuring the Avengers, New Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Wakandans, and the TVA heroes.
During The Walt Disney Studios presentation at Destination D23, Disney and Marvel Studios showcased a hype reel teaser and a behind-the-scenes set video of Avengers: Doomsday.
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo greeted fans through a video message from London, where filming is currently taking place. The teaser included a quick montage, the live-streamed cast chair reveal, and footage featuring confirmed characters and actors from previous Marvel movies.
The montage reveals the MCU’s history and the team of heroes assembling for Doomsday.
- Thor’s rallying cry (Thor: Love and Thunder): “We could pull together the greatest team ever.”
- Sam Wilson’s Captain America (Brave New World): “If we can’t see the good in each other, we’ve already lost the fight.”
- Shuri’s declaration: “Now is our time to strike.”
- Ant-Man’s promise (Quantumania, from his memoir Look Out for the Little Guy!): “Will I be there when the Avengers need me? Absolutely.”
- Yelena (Thunderbolts): “We stick together from now on.”
- Joaquin Torres’ Falcon: “That pressure, that responsibility? I want that too.”
- Red Guardian: “This has the makings of a team that can bring light from the darkness.”
- Loki: “Razing things to the ground is easy. Trying to fix what’s broken is hard.”
The montage also featured elements from the X-Men and Fantastic Four:
- Professor X: “There are forces in this world, both mutant and human alike, who believe that a war is coming.”
- Cyclops: “If anything happens, I’ll take care of them.”
- Mister Fantastic: “Today we are your defenders. We will protect you.”
It concluded with Shuri’s powerful call: “Yibambe!”—a symbol of unity and the spirit of Wakanda.
Joe and Anthony Russo said, “Hi, D23 members. This is Joe and Anthony Russo. Right now, we’re in London shooting Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. This movie is, to say the least, a big one for us. It’s bigger than anything we’ve ever done. We’re bringing together so many of your favorite heroes to face one of Earth’s greatest threats in the MCU.”
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely, Avengers: Doomsday is now being co-written by McFeely and Michael Waldron, the creator and head writer of the Loki series. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
The official cast members of the film include Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Paul as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. Ian McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
