A new leaked report from Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars confirms that Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom will be succeeding in his plan at the end of Avengers: Doomsday. It is reported that, at the end of Doomsday, Doctor Doom uses godlike power to create his own world, called Battleworld.
According to insider James Mack, who leaked major plot details for Avengers: Doomsday, he has now revealed some important information on Avengers: Secret Wars. Like in the comics (Marvel’s 2015 Secret Wars storyline), after the multiverse is destroyed, Doom creates his own world, and all the heroes forget their past lives and serve God Emperor Doom. Only a small group of surviving heroes (like Reed Richards, Black Panther, and a few others) try to reverse the situation, overthrowing Doom and his absolute power over the world.
The insider also reported that there will be a fight between the Avengers and the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday. Doctor Doom will have the ability to control machines and robots through runes, taking command of the X-Universe Sentinels. The plot already hinted at Doctor Doom using powerful magic.
Previously leaked concept art for Secret Wars on ArtStation by one of Marvel’s former concept artists already revealed that Avengers: Secret Wars reportedly adopts an ancient, medieval style reminiscent of the 1602 universe from What If…?. Some of the art shows a kingdom on Battleworld, where Doom resides, featuring castles and a mythical vibe.
A new report from Daniel Richtman mentions that Marvel Studios is planning to release the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday on the same day as James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, both in theaters and online.
Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to begin filming in mid-2026.
Doomsday is directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
