The new BTS images of Ada Scott as Franklin Richards from Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been revealed by Digital Domain, the VFX company that worked on the film.

According to Digital Domain, they contributed to The Fantastic Four: First Steps, focusing mostly on The Thing and Baby Franklin, as well as all of the story-driving sequences set in the Baxter Building.

For Baby Franklin (Scott), Digital Domain combined advanced facial capture and digital doubles to create both newborn and toddler versions of the character, contributing to over 150 shots. They also worked on the early development of Invisible Woman’s invisibility effects, Human Torch’s dynamic fire, and the full creation of HERBIE.

In a recent interview with Variety, Vanessa Kirby revealed that “100% of the film was shot with a real baby” who played Franklin Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Kirby said, “Our lead baby, Ada, a little girl, was just heaven. We had lots of other babies who were acting with us and helping us. We got really attached to them, and they became such a part of our journey. It almost felt weird when they weren’t there.”
Kirby added, “Also, it’s challenging. The speech that Sue has was a night shoot. It was really late, and we were shooting in winter in London, and all the babies cried at exactly the same line. I thought, ‘Am I delivering something so bad that they’re crying at the same moment?’ Babies are the most natural actors in the world.”
According to Variety’s prediction, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 2026 Oscars.
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released in the United States on July 25, 2025, as the first film of Phase Six in the MCU and has grossed $473 million worldwide.
