After Thor, Vision, Steve Rogers, and Lady Thor, a new character will wield Mjolnir in the MCU, and we will see this in the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday.
According to insider James Mack, a new character will reportedly wield Mjolnir in a fight against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. It will not be Thor or Steve Rogers. It is confirmed that Loki will use Mjolnir in Doomsday.
Mack said, “I heard that another character will lift Mjolnir in a fight against Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, besides Steve Rogers (obviously excluding Thor).”
In a recent Happy Sad Confused interview, Tom Hiddleston teased that he was able to do things with Loki that he hasn’t explored before in Avengers: Doomsday.
Hiddleston said, “The last time we saw him [Loki], he was sitting on the throne. What will happen next… you’ll have to wait and see.”
We already reported that a team has been assembled by the TVA to protect Loki in Doomsday, as Doctor Doom is trying to steal his powers. Deadpool, Wolverine, and Laura Kinney (X-23) will be part of the team, along with some What If…? characters and variants thrown into the Void.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, Hiddleston said Avengers: Doomsday is a “monumental” film.
“My contribution has been completed. It is monumental. The center of the story is absolutely brilliant and was so surprising when I read it. It has never been done before.”
In Avengers: Doomsday, the MCU begins the beginning of the end.
