Recently, concept art from The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released, featuring the team in their original suits, Galactus approaching the planet, Johnny pushing his powers to the limit, and a keyframe of Mole Man being arrested.
On Instagram, Ji Hye Lee (Senior Illustrator at Marvel Studios) shared concept art of The Fantastic Four in their original suits. She wrote, “Starting the art share for Fantastic Four with this keyframe I did of the members enjoying a meal after their fight with Giganto. We had to come up with different ideas for a montage of their early days, and I had a lot of fun working on this one!” See the image below.
Hye Lee also shared a keyframe of concept art shows Mole Man being arrested for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. See it below.
Jackson Sze (Visual Development Supervisor at Marvel Studios) has shared concept art of Galactus. He wrote, “Early concept development on how Galactus arrives on Earth-828.” See the image below.
Naomi Baker (Senior Concept Artist) shared concept art of Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm pushing his powers to the limit. See the image below.
Coliewertz has shared concept art of the Excelsior from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He wrote, “Excelsior: the rubber hit the road on this version. Kas Farahani was keen on the Oscar Niemeyer ‘spire’ shapes… this take was where the fins, and eventually booster supports, started their lives. Having a ‘given’ reference like Niemeyer from Kasra was a huge help. It made it easier to confidently lean into those cues.” See the image below.
Here’s the plot details for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet — and everyone on it — weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
