A new set of images and plot details for Amazon’s live-action Spider-Noir series starring Nicolas Cage has been revealed by Esquire. The series is a direct spin-off of the alternate Spider-Man universes first established in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Noir will be about Spider-Noir investigating the repeated assassination attempts on Silvermane.

Here are the plot details for the Spider-Noir series:
The story of Spider-Noir focuses on a gangland boss known as Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson, who has been the subject of repeated assassination attempts. Maybe that’s just one of the hazards of his business, or maybe there’s a broader scheme at play. Reilly starts to believe something’s amiss when an arsonist suspected of setting a blaze at Silvermane’s mansion reveals he can spark fire from his hands. Then Reilly runs afoul of hired muscle named Flint Marko (Jack Huston), who invites him to go pound sand—also known as engaging in fisticuffs.

In the show, Ben Reilly will be referred to as “The Spider” in Spider-Noir instead of Spider-Man.
“There were several reasons for the Ben Reilly change-up. The main one was the nature of noir storytelling itself.”
Nicolas Cage says that his character in Spider-Noir is “70 percent Humphrey Bogart and 30 percent Bugs Bunny.” He added in this first of two separate Spider-Noir first looks, “I was basically Mel Blanc doing Bogart, with that sarcastic sense of humor. But it’s 100 percent me.”
Chris Miller explained the difference between the movie version of Peter Parker and Spider-Noir:
“This character is very different from the Peter Parker in the movies. He’s older and jaded, and not afraid to drunkenly punch a guy in the face.”
