Major plot details for Marvel Television’s Wonder Man have leaked online ahead of the show’s premiere next week.

According to insider MAJESTIC, the Wonder Man series features Hollywood, superheroes, and MCU satire. In this world, Hollywood forbids people with superpowers from working on productions, which is key to the plot.

To audition for Wonder Man, one of the requirements states:
“Under no circumstances should you possess superhuman abilities.”

Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) already has powers, but he hides them. Simon lies on the application form, claiming he has no powers. Whenever he gets nervous or stressed (linked to the mutant gene), his eyes glow red and blue, and he begins to emanate energy, causing nearby objects to tremble or fly away.

Simon’s powers include energy emanating from his hands and eyes, as well as possible super strength, kinetic energy manipulation, and flight.

The director is Von Kovak, a “prestigious” filmmaker (there’s a direct jab at Oscar-winning directors who criticize the MCU). The movie they are filming appears to be an over-the-top, kitschy remake of an old film from the 1960s–1970s.

Trevor Slattery (the fake Mandarin) accompanies Simon and is linked to Damage Control. He realizes that Simon has powers, knows the truth, and later feigns surprise.

There is a very important scene in which Simon watches a video of a woman he previously had a relationship with, Alex Florez. She appears to be someone very important to him, possibly a romantic partner.

When Simon breaks down emotionally, his power explodes violently. He destroys a table that reads “Happy Birthday.”

There is a scene in which he appears to have crashed through the roof of a building. Wonder Man will be one of the most powerful characters in the MCU.

Damage Control will be a recurring antagonist in the MCU. They are hunting individuals with unregulated powers, acting as an oppressive, mutant-hunting force within the MCU.

Simon’s brother is the villain Grim Reaper (Eric Williams). He harbors hatred, envy, and a desire to surpass Wonder Man. He is intelligent and obsessive, uses advanced technology, and wields an energy scythe—a weapon designed to kill superhumans.

In Wonder Man Episode 4, “Doorman,” the show’s focus shifts away from Simon and Wonder Man and instead centers on Doorman. The episode could be considered a black-and-white episode. Wonder Man rescues a group of people with superhuman abilities from a Damage Control prison.

Here’s the plot details for Wonder Man:

Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns that legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man. The two actors, at opposite ends of their careers, doggedly pursue life-changing roles in the film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.

The series was created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, and produced by Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, Brad Winderbaum, Cretton, and Guest.

The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man, alongside Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, Demetrius Grosse as Eric Williams/Grim Reaper, Ed Harris as Neal Saroyan, Arian Moayed as P. Cleary, Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak, and Béchir Sylvain as Sanford Williams. The cast also includes Josh Gad as himself, Byron Bowers as DeMarr Davis/Doorman, Juliette Ortega as Melanie, Lauren Glazier, Olivia Thirlby, and X Mayo in to-be-confirmed roles, with Joe Pantoliano also appearing in an undisclosed role.

Wonder Man will consist of eight episodes, all of which will premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026.
