The Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding art book, which covers the breadth of Ryan Meinerding‘s work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe with illustrations, sketches, character designs, insights, and much more, is now available for sale.
Following the release of the Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding art book, new official concept art for the Battle of Earth in Avengers: Endgame has been revealed.
The keyframe concept art for Avengers: Endgame’s Battle of Earth shows Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk punching Josh Brolin’s Thanos. It’s a moment we all wanted to see, but it was ultimately cut from the movie. You can see the image below.
Hulk’s rematch with Thanos was cut from Endgame because the Russos decided that if Hulk were to have a rematch, he would have to lose again—in order for Tony to be the one to ultimately defeat Thanos and sacrifice himself.
Also, a scene featuring the team-up of Chris Evans‘ Captain America and Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord was also cut from Avengers: Endgame.
The Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding features artwork by Ryan Meinerding, the Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios. The book includes over 500 illustrations and offers unprecedented insight into Meinerding’s creative process, as well as his perspective on the essential collaborations behind contemporary concepts and character design.
Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding is available for order now and is published by Abrams Books.
