The filming for Orphan 3, starring Isabelle Fuhrman, has begun in Budapest, Hungary.
Following the start of filming, the production team shared the official clapperboard, revealing that Orphan 3 has the working title “Orphans.” The director is listed as William Brent Bell, and the director of photography (DOP) is Maxime Alexander. See the image below.

A ruthless con artist targets a wealthy European household, but her carefully planned scheme takes an unexpected turn when someone uncovers her dark past and vows to expose her true identity.
In the third installment of the cult Orphan horror franchise, Fuhrman will return as Esther, with the remaining cast to be announced soon. The film will be directed by Bell, who also directed Orphan: First Kill, and the screenplay is written by David Coggeshall.
In a statement, Norman Golightly, Co-CEO of Dark Castle Entertainment, said, “Dark Castle is excited to announce another terrifying chapter in the Orphan saga.” Golightly added, “With the success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that Orphan 3 will be a must-see for both longtime fans and new audiences alike.”
The Orphan franchise has earned $125 million worldwide. The first film, released in 2009, became a cult hit, telling the story of a couple who adopt a nine-year-old girl after losing their baby—only to discover she isn’t who she seems. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, and Fuhrman, it grossed $78 million worldwide.
The 2022 prequel, Orphan: First Kill, followed Fuhrman’s Leena as she escapes a psychiatric facility and poses as a missing child from a wealthy family. Released in theaters and on Paramount+, it earned over $45 million worldwide.
Dark Castle is producing Orphan 3 alongside Alex Mace of Gnosis Films. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick serves as executive producer, and Lionsgate is handling international sales.
Orphan 3 is expected to hit select theaters, digital platforms, and streaming on Paramount+ by the end of December 2026 or early 2027.
