Marvel’s The Fantastic Four is scheduled to begin filming in London by the end of this month. Paul Walter Hauser, who is playing an undisclosed role in the film, says he’s been reading the screenplay and comics in preparation for his role.
In a recent interview with Variety, Paul Walter Hauser shared an update on the pre-production of his role in the upcoming Marvel film.
He said, “Pre-production for me has been reading comic books and reading the screenplay — a lot of it is assessing where I fit into that story and how to best utilize my time in it. You don’t want to make choices or do things that are redundant in a film — it’s important to know what the film is and what everyone’s jobs are so that you’re bringing your own unique take to something.”
He added, “That was incredibly important in BlacKkKlansman — I was playing one of a half dozen racist idiots in the film, and you have to bring your own racist idiot to the table. It can’t just be everybody else’s. Whenever I’m in an ensemble, I’m trying to figure out how to be unique or specific without being distracting.”
Recently, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and director Matt Shakman were spotted having dinner together at the Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in London. See the images below.
The film stars Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Ineson as Galactus. Julia Garner is set to portray a female Silver Surfer, with Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in undisclosed roles. Additionally, characters yet to be cast include Mole Man and H.E.R.B.I.E.
In the first episode of Marvel’s new The Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel President Kevin Feige revealed that ‘The Fantastic Four’ is set in an alternate reality to the main MCU and will be a period piece set in the 1960s.
Directed by Shakman, the original script for ‘Fantastic Four,’ written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, has undergone a rewrite by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Produced by Feige, Grant Curtis, and Nick Pepin.
‘The Fantastic Four’ is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
