During its premiere weekend, ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ became the top movie worldwide on Prime Video. It’s now one of the top three most-watched romantic comedies ever on Prime Video and has led to a major increase in new Prime memberships.
Directed by Matthew Lopez. It’s based on Casey McQuiston‘s 2019 novel and is about a love story between the US president’s son and a British prince. According to the film’s plot, “Alex Claremont-Diaz, the first son of the United States, and young Prince Henry fall in love. However, considering their high-profile public lives, they must keep their relationship a secret at all costs.“

Director Matthew López tells SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that star Taylor Zakhar Perez asked him to look at his body hair before filming an intimate scene. “I go into Taylor’s trailer—we’ve been making this movie for like, five, six weeks at this point—and Karen Hartley looks at Taylor and says, ‘Alright, tell him what you told me.’ And he goes, ‘I don’t know if I should shave or not.’ I’m like, ‘Your face?’ and he goes, ‘No, babe.’ I’m like, ‘Alright, well, what do you want to do about it?’ He says, ‘Just look, okay?’ So, I had my hair and makeup person there as the chaperone, because I didn’t want my career to end before it began, and Taylor, like, lowers his pants, and he’s like, ‘Look at my ass,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re fine, you look great!'”
