The first trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is confirmed to be an official announcement that Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America.
On X, MarvelStudiosSpoiler shared details about the Avengers: Doomsday trailer. Here it is:
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer opens with Evans’ Steve Rogers arriving at his home, the one we last saw in Avengers: Endgame. He hops off his motorbike, places his helmet on the bike, then walks toward his house.
There is then a different shot of him holding his Avengers: Endgame suit, almost as if he is going to suit up again, followed by another shot of him holding his baby and smiling.
The trailer ends with a black screen displaying the text: “Steve Rogers will return. In Avengers: Doomsday.”
Recently, insider Daniel Richtman revealed, “I can also tell you that the first teaser is Steve Rogers–focused, and his return is confirmed. The reason is to establish him as the lead character in Avengers: Doomsday.”
Major Spoiler Ahead: “Steve Rogers going back in time at the end of Avengers: Endgame to live happily with Peggy Carter is set to be a major plot point in Avengers: Doomsday, as his actions created incursions in the multiverse. Steve not only chose to stay in the past with Carter, but he also began altering events. Therefore, for the multiverse to survive, Steve must die.“
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past).
