Netflix has revealed the official title for Rian Johnson‘s ‘Knives Out 3,’ which is ‘Wake Up Dead Man.’
In the third installment of ‘Knives Out,’ Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc in his most dangerous case yet.
On Twitter (X), Johnson shared a short teaser, announcing the title and setting the release for 2025 on Netflix. He wrote, “The next Benoit Blanc mystery, the follow-up to Knives Out and Glass Onion, is called Wake Up Dead Man.”
In a statement, Johnson said, “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.” Johnson added, “We’re about to go into production on the third one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going.”
‘Wake Up Dead Man’ will be distributed by Netflix as part of Johnson’s $450 million deal for two sequels. While the first film grossed $312 million worldwide, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery‘ had a limited theatrical release, earning $13 million before streaming on Netflix.
In ‘Wake Up Dead Man,’ we can expect another star-studded cast alongside Craig. According to Netflix, Blanc will be unraveling a brand new murder mystery in an as-yet-undisclosed setting, surrounded by a new colorful cast of suspects.
