A new report has revealed that Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday may show a “rift between the two,” which will be different from previous Avengers movies.
In Avengers: Infinity War, the heroes united against a common threat, Thanos, and lost the battle. But in Avengers: Endgame, the heroes regained their lost allies and became even more united in their efforts to defeat Thanos.
In Avengers: Doomsday, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is the main villain. As he steps forward, the heroes’ decisions and priorities begin to clash, which may result in major battles and even betrayal between allies. Everyone wants to survive the existence of the “incursions” that could cause the collapse of the multiverse.
When multiple worlds are colliding at the same time, it becomes easier to choose to “protect our own world” rather than “save everything.” If each world’s hero team prioritizes the survival of its own world, it becomes increasingly likely that they will abandon other worlds, even in the name of justice.
At the same time, the heroes’ sense of ethics is put to the test, and it wouldn’t be surprising if some cross lines they once believed they never would.
The X-Men universe has already experienced incursions many times, with its heroes traveling to other universes and destroying those worlds each time.
It is reported that Doctor Doom may secretly make the conflict between heroes even worse.
He could control the situation by making allies doubt each other and turning heroes against one another. If this happens, Doom would be shown as a very dangerous villain — not like Thanos, but scary in a different way.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
