Ron Howard’s new survival thriller film ‘Eden,’ starring Ana de Armas, Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, and Sydney Sweeney, has been planned to premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 7, 2024, in Venice, Italy, as confirmed by a Screendaily report.
We heard that AGC International closed major territory sales of the film during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Also, a multi-territory deal with Amazon Prime Video includes the UK and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Scandinavia, Spain, Latin America, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, India, Turkey, the West Indies, and Asia pay-TV.
Directed by Howard, from a screenplay penned by Noah Pink, and produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Karen Lunder with AGC Studios founder Stuart Ford, and Bill Connor and Patrick Newall.
The film also stars Daniel Brühl, Richard Roxburgh, Felix Kammerer, Toby Wallace, Paul Gleeson, and Ignacio Gasparini. Filming began in November 2023 in Queensland, Australia, with the second unit shooting in the Galapagos. According to Film Updates, the filming wrapped in February 2024.
What is ‘Eden’ About?
The film is about a group of people who abandon society and civilization in order to travel to the Galápagos Islands and find the meaning of life.
In a statement, AGC Studios’ Ford said, “We are excited to have top distribution partners around the world on board for the fall festival launch of Eden.” He added, “We’re feeling really confident about the film’s terrific box office and award potential.”
The main financiers are AGC and Library Pictures International, with additional funding coming from Elevate Production Finance, Copper Island Entertainment, and Medan Productions, with support from the Queensland Government, the City of Gold Coast, and the Australian Federal Government.
When is the Release Date for Eden?
The film’s US sale is planned for later this year, and as of now, ‘Eden’ does not have a release date.
