Sydney Sweeney is in talks for the role of Black Cat/Felicia Hardy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Marvel President Kevin Feige, as confirmed by a scooper on Twitter (X).
According to reports, Sweeney will play the role of Felicia in Tom Holland‘s ‘Spider-Man 4‘. Felicia will be the main love interest for the movie, but Zendaya‘s MJ will slowly remember who Peter is. The love triangle will happen with MJ and Felicia.
Black Cat and her father have a past with Kingpin. Felicia wants revenge. The Sony Spider-Man Universe (SPUMC) and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are reportedly merging in ‘Spider-Man 4.’
Recently, in Sony’s ‘Madame Web,’ Sweeney played the role of Julia Cornwall/Spider-Woman. The film was disappointing at the box office. However, Sweeney’s portrayal of Spider-Woman grabbed the attention of the audience.
We reported that filming for ‘Spider-Man 4’ is set to begin in late September 2024. The film currently does not have a director attached, but an offer has been made. ‘Spider-Man 4’ is being characterized as a “street-level civil war,” and there are hints that Kate Bishop, Echo, and Jessica Jones may make appearances in the film. Also, ‘Spider-Man 4’ may feature appearances by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Ant-Man will have a “sizeable role” in the movie.
Sony is trying to bring back Zendaya, while Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds won’t be back. The script is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, known for their work on previous MCU Spider-Man films. There are rumors that Michael Keaton‘s Vulture, last seen in the mid-credits scenes of Sony’s ‘Morbius,’ will return.
‘Spider-Man 4’ release date has not yet been revealed.
