Why is Ezekiel Sims hunting three women in ‘Madame Web’?
Ezekiel Sims (played by Tahar Rahim) is an explorer who collaborated with Cassandra Webb‘s (played by Dakota Johnson) late mother and possesses enhanced physical abilities.
When ‘Madame Web’ gains her powers, granting her the ability to foresee the future, she enters a realm resembling the Spider-Verse timelines represented as webs. Ezekiel Sims explains to Cassandra what she can do and why, and outlines his plan regarding it.

According to the film’s plot: Meanwhile, in another universe… In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures—if they can all survive a deadly present.
Directed by S. J. Clarkson from a screenplay by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. The film is the sixth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film stars Johnson as Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet.
