Sophie Turner (Dark Phoenix), Archie Madekwe (Gran Turismo), and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (Bodies) are set to star in Amazon Prime Video‘s new heist thriller series ‘Haven.’ It’s written by S.A. Nikias, known for the City Blues Quartet novels under the pseudonym Ray Celestin.
What is ‘Haven’ About?
In the high-octane contemporary series, Turner plays Zara, an office worker at pension fund investment company Lochmill Capital. Zara’s day is upended when a gang of violent thieves burst in, demanding she helps them steal billions of pounds of ordinary people’s pensions. Madekwe features as Zara’s best friend Luke, while Fortune-Lloyd will play DCI Rhys, a detective with a recently relapsed gambling problem who must keep his own money troubles at bay as he examines the Lochmill Capital crime.
The first three episodes of the show will be directed by Sam Miller (I May Destroy You), who also serves as an executive producer.
Produced by Drama Republic, the UK production company behind Netflix hit One Day, alongside Amazon MGM Studios.
Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, described Haven as a “uniquely thrilling ride” that will offer a “gripping, addictive, entertaining” story for Prime Video subscribers.
Rebecca de Souza and Greg Brenman of Drama Republic expressed their astonishment at Nikias’ debut script. They noted that his roller coasting, nail-biting, and funny scripts have rightly attracted a tremendous cast and top-tier creative team.
The filming for ‘Haven’ is scheduled to begin this fall, with the series set to premiere on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide in 2025.
